I have always gamed on laptops - M17x, M11x, MBP, VAIO Z... list goes on and on. Add the Air to that list now. The 320M is a very capable chip and it can play many modern games at medium settings smoothly.
The way you describe laptop chipsets makes you sound like you've only ever tried laptop gaming with a GMA500 :p

i have gamed on laptops my whole life...i have no idea where you get the idea that you cannot game on laptops...what do you think the alienware line is for?

If T-mobile gets the iPhone maybe they will have better data plans than AT&T
All this "next iPhone carrier" stuff is up there with Elvis sightings now. Unless I see a verified quote from execs, it is just one more guy in a rhinestone jumpsuit in the frozen food aisle at WalMart.

So I've been loosely paying attention to this... what are the CPU/video requirements? I remember 2+ years ago there was aforum member who was a Blizzard employee saying there was a teenie tiny chance they would support powerPC ( which I know they're not doing now... that was 2 years ago )
But is it even possible to dream about playing this on say a Mac Mini with a Core 2 Duo ?What are the specs on your Mac Mini. My MacBook Pro is 2.8 GHz C2D, and it runs fine.

It's nice to see that the banner from the Apple website is being replicated at the MW venue (assuming it isn't a fake), but it shouldn't been seen as an indication that 2007 is going to bring amazing products. Remember that apple has a track record of over-hyping itself.

CR is, IMO, the best starting point to find out if a product is reliable or has a known defect. From there, I expand my research with more detailed reviews.
this!
CR can be useful but certainly shouldn't be the end of your research. my parents and some friends of theirs bought vizio tvs based on CR alone and the tvs have really crappy picture quality. maybe they scored highly in reliability or something...

This dock means that the future iPhones will sync throught thunderbolt with macs and with usb 3.0 for pcs!!! I guess thins means macs wont come with usb 3.0, so maybe an adapter would come out sometime...
I repeat: sync to macs with thunderbolt and sync to pcs with usb 3.0!!

Unless the microgenetics machines are small, well, there are several stages in DNA transcription and reverse transcriptase, which would make several conditions unsuitable. Heat destroys it. It can be awfully slow. There are at least 6 stages using different equipment.

It's pretty clear that the lens is in a deeper "well" in the white model. This is consistent with the rumor that light was impinging on the camera in the white model. What you need to do is limit all light that isn't coming from directly in front of the lens. No light from the side, and definitely no light from the inside of the camera. The way to fight it if you have an SLR? Invest in an old fashioned thing called a bellows, which shields the lens from any light that isn't coming from the area you can focus on, and which doesn't do anything but add glare or make blacks in the picture more like dark gray. This deeper camera acts like a bellows, I presume, blocking any light coming through the white, more translucent body.
As mentioned, a bellows does not surround a lens, it is a means to alter magnification. In fact, a bellows (or the portion of a modern macro lens that is equivalent to a bellows) will not have any lens elements in it at all.
I believe that's also what the little aluminum trim ring around the camera sensor is used for too to block out the light from the translucent body and the LED flash. The prototype iPhone 4 never had that ring I believe.
It's all just ridiculous. The lens blocks light itself. No lens is simply glass, it would never work at all, who would make such a stupid product? How would it hold together? A lens, esp in the case of a large SLR lens, is many glass/plastic elements. Here's a standard lens (http://www.sigmaphoto.com/shop/50mm-f14-ex-dg-hsm-sigma), look at the diagram at the bottom of the 8 elements and the positioning. (and there must be at least 2 in the iPhone lens) They have to be held in their respective positions by something around the outside. The suggestions of "light leakage" imply that the surrounding material would have to be translucent....what, more glass? Transparent aluminum? The photo in the OP clearly shows black plastic and silver metal as the lens surround, independent from the rest of the phone or the color of the phone.
Look at that picture. The lens on the left has more plastic in it, which I suppose could block light more easily than less, but that's the one from a black phone. Shouldn't it be the other way around for this theory to have any teeth at all? It's probably just a newly or differently sourced lens, and if they took apart new black phones they'd find the same newer one in some of those.
The thickness issue is within manufacturing tolerances, I would guess. Again, if we could measure each and every brand new phone, we'd no doubt be able to find a black one that is thicker than a white one. This is the problem for case makers, always has been. What no one is thinking about is the size of the cases, those also will have some size variation within the same model line.

I don't have much time right now (I'm kind of in class at the moment) but I think I figured out how to edit categories, just edit the category page like any normal page, I'm going to test it out with a new category later when I have more time to figure out how to delete my test category after creating it (yes I'm very new to wiki editing).
Only sysops can delete pages. If you want to create a test category I can delete it when you're done with it.

A MacBook trackpad does NOT need a click to register.
You can change the settings so that you do not need to click at all, it simply takes your touch as a click. I use it in this way all the time, I NEVER click the touchpad.
+1 I also never click the trackpad.....I hate the clicking noise and it takes too long, much easier to tap.

Worst Apple ads ever. You attract more flies with sugar than vinegar, and Apple's all about the vinegar.
I strongly disagree. These ads are based on humor. Humor seems more like a sweet enticement than a sour one.
Oh, and by the way, it's honey, not sugar.
I'm not claiming to say that these ads have hurt or helped boost the market shares.
Well, actually you are:
Not because of these commercials.
That seems pretty much like your denying the possibility that they have helped, explicitly.
...I'm only saying that I have only heard negative things about them.
I feel embarrassed watching them.
Well, you know, that's your experience and your issue. I find them funny. Everyone I know finds them funny. And that includes a number of PC users, including IT professionals. The only person who didn't quite let himself laugh openly about them is my dad, and he has a personal bias against Macs.

You have no idea how much you're about to be disappointed.
Yep- because any government should exist to benefit all it's people, not just one group over another. Sad to see this sickness infesting Canada too.
I'm sorry Lee, but this really isn't a new phenomenon in Canada. If the winners get a majority, they basically tell the others to F off. When the Liberals had a majority, they pretty much did what they wanted. They became arrogant. When the Progressive Conservatives under Mulroney had a majority in the 80's, same thing. Only when there is a minority government is there a little bit of give and take between the parties.

They don't come any sexier than an American Corvette
My favorite 1966 Vette:

I also liked the 1966 Camaro:

Honestly, I'm looking around my room right now and the only things that I think were made in America are books and software...
Pretty much everything was made in Japan or China.
I remember 1965 when made-in-Japan was viewed with derision. Not to imply Japanese made products were shabby, it was mostly prejudice. My first made-in-japan product was a small battery powered transistor radio. Regarding home-made US products, it's been down hill ever since.

I kinda feel like we should at least have the option to not have every element of our gui bogged down with image files.
I was thinking that it would be cool if more of the UI was plain openGL and less image based. how cool (although impracticle) would it be if the entire gui was 5 channels. R, G, B, alpha, displace. Then the os could load ONE metal image, and all the sliders, buttons, wells could be smokey glass(slightly transparent, dark grey, and displaced the image behind it like a glass of water.) that would be more open gl work but less loading of images.
that would reflect the realitive increase in graphics processors comprared to regular ones.
sometimes I just wonder how quick an update to the classic interface would fly on a modern machine

The interface is slick, but it is slow as a tortise. Maybe they are still bringing additional servers online, but I hope the speed improves...
[EDIT] Just tried it using Firefox 2.0, and the speed is MUCH faster than on Safari. Interesting...
It runs fine on my machine in Safari. Maybe it's just some startup jitters
